Chapter Philanthropy

The wonderful thing about the Children's Miracle Network is that it sponsors hospitals all over the country. That means, money that is raised through Phi Mu's chapter at Huntingdon will stay locally to benefit the children of Alabama at the Children's Hospital in Birmingham!

Theta Kappa strives to uphold the creed in every way. We believe that every day is an opportunity to "lend to those less fortunate a helping hand," so we organize such philanthropic events not only to help CMNHospitals, but also support other local charities in need. Theta Kappa takes an Angel Child every Christmas season for the Salvation Army, as a team we volunteered on campus for Rise Against Hunger and we respond to emergencies such as the Hurricane Michael relief aide. Aside from our own charity, we also attend events to help support the philanthropies of other Greek Life at Huntingdon College!

So how do we support CMNHospitals? In the past, Phi Mus have gone to the Children's Hospital to participate in the Sugar Plum shop at Children's Hospital in Birmingham where they helped the families of the patients gather Christmas gifts. We've done several fundraisers but in 2023 we introduced a new event: Milkshakes for Miracles! In this event, we held on fundraiser on campus selling milkshakes benefiting CMNH. We intend on making this event a tradition, and can't wait to raise more money for our philanthropy!
